 Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I took the time to experiment with the aperture, focus and exposure on my camera! I found this exercise to be really enjoyable and I’m very happy with the outcome of my photographs. I tried to experiment with elements of aperture as well as elements of exposure and light, in order to make my photos a lot more effective.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I fixed my attention onto my camera’s focus modes in order to improve my skills. Here are some of my favourite photographs! All of my photographs happened to turn out very gloomy due to the colour scheme of my home, but also because the day was very grey and therefore I was struggling to find a good source of light. Nonetheless, I think that the darkness works in favour of these photographs as they compliment each other very nicely. I really liked this weeks exercise, however, I think that there’s definitely room for improvement.

 Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! 📸✨ This week, I got a little bit more familiar with the topic of white balance and experienced with it in different settings. However, I hadn’t paid great attention to some of my camera settings and I didn’t notice that my ISO was in automatic mode, therefore, a lot of my images have got quite a bit of noise and graininess.  Although most of these photographs have got a bit of graininess to them and there’s lots of room for improvement, I’m fairly happy with their outcome. Additionally, I’ve been feeling like I’m developing a bit of a style when it comes to taking my photographs, which makes me really excited to improve it and develop further!

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! This week, I watched two videos which expanded my knowledge on photography styles and photo editing strategies. The first video that I have watched is called ‘‘Defining a Style for your Photography’’. In this video, photographer Sean Tucker spoke about different styles of photography as well as the journey that he’s going through in order to discover his own. I feel like this video really reassured me in a sense that a style may only develop years after beginning your journey, it all takes practice, patience and dedication. Therefore, your own photography style is not something you should rush to discover. Additionally, I liked how Tucker normalised not being able to take photographs on a specific day, be it an atmosphere that you don’t feel comfortable in, or a lack of motivation.  Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!  This week, I’ve researched a vast number of photographers in order to grow inspiration for my photo essay project that I will begin working on very shortly. Immediately, photographer Cindy Sherman caught my eye. After reading through her biography and observing some of her photographs, I have chosen this one to be my absolute favourite: This photograph remains untitled, as Sherman tried to avoid the use of text and description, and ‘‘has resisted making theoretical pronouncements about her work’’. I found this to be quite fascinating, as it gives the viewer an opportunity to perceive her photography in their own way. I think that there is a unique use of light in this photograph, it has the right amount of brightness but also the right amount of darkness.  Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! ༄ This week, I practiced capturing compositional photos with various design elements, composition templates and tricks. I'm fairly happy with the outcome of this photo, as it captures the design element of leading lines and shapes. I think that all of the colours blend nicely amongst each other too. For this photograph, I tried to capture the composition of negative space. I’m pretty happy with the outcome as there is a nice contrast between the building, the tree and the sky! This is another example of negative space. I found myself really enjoying capturing these photos and their outcomes, as I really like simplicity in photographs, which negative space manages to portray. This photograph captures another design element of leading lines.
